Diathlasis SA Architectural Lighting Design Award - 29.12.2009
Diathlasis SA Architectural Lighting Design is a leading company in Greece in the field of architectural lighting, offering lighting design services as well as supplying premium lighting products and solutions.
Diathlasis SA is primarily concerned about the progress of architecture and lighting design in Greece and actively support architectural institutions through various activities. For this reason, Diathlasis SA, other than being the main sponsor of this competition, will be offering a lighting design reward of 1,000 ? to the best architectural lighting proposal.
The scope of this specific award for the architectural competition “Piraeus Tower 2010 – Changing the Facades Reformation” is to design a holistic architectural lighting design proposal with respect to the significant elements that Diathlasis represents. Specifically:

CONCEPT
• Conjunction of architecture and light
- Reinforce and highlight the architectural features that make this building unique and visually interesting
• Innovation and uniqueness of design
RELIABILITY
• Compliance with quality and safety standards - Security of installation
• Cost effective and practical implementation
EFFICIENCY
• Environmentally conscious design - use of energy efficient light sources/systems to save energy without restricting the light quality and design
• Light pollution limitations
SUSTAINABILITY
• Sustainability of the system¶s design to comply with the principles of economic, social and ecological sustainability
