Piraeus Tower 2010. Workshop & Press Conference. - 29.12.2009

GreekArchitects.gr and DuPont Building Innovations invite you to the presentation of the open architectural ideas competition “Piraeus Tower 2010-Changing the Face/Façade Reformation” that will be realized on Thursday 25th of February 2010 at Fresh Hotel Athens (Sofokleous 26, Athens/ www.freshhotel.gr)

The Press Conference will begin on 12 p.m. and organizers and supporters will present the competition, its objective and its importance. The members of organisational and jury committee will attend.

In the afternoon, on 6 p.m., and in consequence to the morning event, a workshop and presentation of the innovative constructional materials of DuPont will be realized.

Analytically
During the Press Conference,Alexios Vandoros( architect and greekarchitects.gr chief editor) and Manolis Anastasakis(architect) will present the competition and describe the building¶s current status and history. Alexandros Tombazis (architect and member of the jury committee) will express his thoughts on the competition. The General Minister of Piraeus Municipality, Giorgos Oikonomopoulos will present the view of Piraeus Municipality and its reasons for being supportive. Alexandros Tripodakis and Nikos Kalogirou, both architects and members of the jury committee will analyze the importance of the architectural competition.
The Press conference will be concluded with the speech of Wlodzimierz Sobon (DuPont Building Innovations Manager, Central Europe) who will present similar architectural competitions already realized in other countries.

During the workshop, Andreas Manesis ( Business Development Manager Greece – Balkans, DuPont Hellas) and Alexios Vandoros will give a short speech. Manolis Anastasakis will explain the evaluation procedure and the importance of the competition being supported. Jean Christophe Masnada, architect and member of the architectural office King Kong (Bordeaux, France) will talk about the Experimental spaces of urban utopia. Anne-Line Citerne (DuPont Material Engineer, Jury committee member) and Nikos Saisanas (DuPont Performance Coatings Sales Representative Greece) will describe constructional solutions with DuPont materials and, in the end, Panagiotis Ioannidis, Management Consultant of Diathlasis SA Lighting Design Company and sponsor of the competition will analyze the importance of lighting in building¶s architecture.
