GreekArchitects.gr and DuPontHellasS.A announce the organisation of an open architectural ideas competition entitled:

"Piraeus Tower 2010-Changing the face/Façades reformation"

GreekArchitects.gr, an e-magasine for architecture, during the period 2008-2009 organised an open architectural ideas competition entitled: “D. Areopagitou 2008- reformation of the rear views of historic buildings at 17 and 19, Areopagitou Street”.

Participants were more than expected. There were 172 proposals from 14 countries and participants exceeded the four hundred. The proposals expressed a rich problematic and gave various solutions to the issue that the competition posed.

The Jury Committee evaluated the proposals and announced three prizes and two mentions. The awarded proposals are published on our website. A printed catalogue of the competition with all the proposals has been also published.

An exhibition with the proposals of the competition was presented in Thessaloniki with great success during the “Architectural Week 2008”

During the exhibition, a lecture was realized at the Conference Centre Vellideio and very interesting opinions were expressed by the speakers-jury committee of the competition.

The competitionµs exhibition opened on 15 June 2009 at Zappeio Magaron, Athens. A crowd of people attended and supported the efforts of our e-magasine.

Continuing our actions and aiming for the development of architecture and its promotion to the public, we announce the organisation of a new architectural ideas competition entitled:

"Piraeus Tower 2010-Changing the face/Façades reformation"

The building is a landmark for the municipality of Piraeus. Unfortunately, it has been abandoned and unprotected for many years. It is often called as “the sleeping giant”. The competition would give birth to public discussion for the future use and the redefinition of "Piraeus Tower" between the local society and the architects¶ “community”.

The objective pursued through the competition "Piraeus Tower 2010-Changing the face/Façades reformation" is to include the building in the urban landscape through the design proposal and to highlight it as the landmark for the wider area.

Participation and statement interest:

The companies that are interested in participating as sponsors in the competition, may choose one of the four (4) categories below:

Categories:

•Sponsorship 1 (Sponsor)

4)Companyµs logo on a special page on a printed edition that we intend to create with the awards and the the participations of the competition. (We would like to mention that the printed edition of D. Areopagitou 2008 competition had a great success and was almost sold out.)

•Sponsorship 2 (Silver Sponsor) Complete sponsorship

(Position: above sponsors and with priority order according to the signature date of the sponsorship form)

•Sponsorship 3 (Gold sponsor) Complete sponsorship of extended promotion

(Position: above sponsors, silver sponsors and with priority order according to the signature date of the sponsorship form)

2)Companyµs logo (300÷60 pixel) on greekarchitects.gr networking exhibition of greekarchitects.gr where the awards and the participations of the competition will be presented.

4)Companyµs participation at the exhibitions that would be realized in Athens and Thessaloniki. Possibility of company¶s having advertising stand and printed information material during the exhibitions.

•Sponsorship 4 (Mega Sponsor) Complete sponsorship of extended promotion

(Position: above sponsors, silver sponsors, gold sponsors and with priority order according to the signature date of the sponsorship form)

1)Companyµs logo (600÷60 pixel) on the competition notice and link to the company¶s website.

2)Companyµs logo (600÷60 pixel) on greekarchitects.gr networking exhibition of greekarchitects.gr where the awards and the participations of the competition will be presented.

3) Companyµs logo on each and every electronic or printed invitation, poster e.t.c.

4)Companyµs participation at the exhibitions that would be realized in Athens and Thessaloniki. Possibility of company¶s having advertising stands (privileged position) and printed information material during the exhibitions.

5)Companyµs logo on a whole page (privileged position, first pages) on a printed edition that we intend to create with the awards and the the participations of the competition. Companyµs small logo on the back side of the edition.(We would like to mention that the printed edition of D. Areopagitou 2008 competition had a great success and was almost sold out.)

6)Companyµs logo (120÷60 pixel) on greekarchitects.gr homepage for 5 months.

7)Free of cost companyµs logo on greekarchitects.gr homepage for additional 3 months in case of the company participating in the “complete packages” of the yearly greekarchitects.gr sponsorships. (Yearly sponsorship and competition sponsorship should be signed simultaneously. The complete time of the companyµ s promotion is 20 months.)

Participation terms for architectural competition sponsorship

The companies that would like to participate as sponsors should sign and send the sponsorship competition form (on our expense, proposed company ASC) to GreekArchitects.gr: sponsorship form
