«D. Areopagitou 2008: reformation of the rear views of historic buildings at 17 and 19, Areopagitou Street».

The greekarchitects.gr e-magazine about architecture organized the spring of 2008 the open architectural competition entitled «D. Areopagitou 2008: reformation of the rear views of historic buildings at 17 and 19, Areopagitou Street».

The competition¶s success impresses in the volume of participations. 172 proposals were finally deposed and 405 researchers participated. The proposals marked a reach questioning and gave a big variety of answers to the questions posed by the competition. Through these 172 proposals, 141 were from Greece and 31 from 14 countries of abroad like USA, Italy, England, Holland.

The Evaluation Committee judged the proposals and concluded in the rewards and the commendations. The 1st reward and the rest distinctions are published in our site and in the printed competition¶s catalogue.

Greekarchitects.gr aimed the Evaluation Committee to be comprised by persons who ensure by their work and their career the open spirit of the competition as much as the quality of the judgment.

Greekarchitects.gr has already published the printed version of the competition¶s Catalogue. The issue brings in all the participations and comments of the members of the evaluation committee.

The exhibition was presented for the first time in Thessaloniki with big success during the event ARCHITECTURAL WEEK 2008
At the same time with the exhibition in Thessaloniki, realized a lecture in Bellidio Conference Center with really interesting seating by the speakers-judges of the competition (N.Georgiadis, A.Kotsiopoulos, P.Tournikiotis, G.Tsiomis) about the competition¶s theme.

The Exhibition was presentedin Athens too in the Zappeio Hall from 14th to 18th of June 2009.

Furthermore, greekarchitects.gr has already sent since October 2008 the 1st award, and the competition¶s catalogue with all the participations, to the Ministry of Culture aiming to the examination of its application.
