DESIGN CONCEPT

This project’s ambition is based on simple organic shapes which interlace between other.
The main idea is to make the old building to breathe. To bring new green energy and sustainable functions into the existing structure. The tower received a historical Athens pattern in vertical application. The courtyards and small gardens rephrased in white frames with the vertical hanging greens. The old abandoned urban monster becomes a fresh green organism.

The tower shall tend to be soothing element. It shall have a federating role, like a landmark, a standard. It has to stabilize and therefore highlight the objects around.

The project is working to this challenge by establishing a horizontal and multifunctional base and most importantly creates a connection between all elements of the environment. We make a new passage thru the main arterial of the retail with the natural light coming from above. Organic shapes of interior are reminding the natural outlines of the canyons of PARNASSOS Mountain.

The new tower is a great field, a wave of landscape. It’s a vertical display that hosts offices behind its green cover. A vertical monument has large transparent facades that protected with green gardens that contribute to reduce energetic consumption.
The wind vents are going to feed the whole building with the most sustainable energy.

We are referring our design to the one of the Seven Wonders of the World such as Hanging Gardens of Semiarid. The lush Hanging Gardens are extensively documented by Greek historians . Through the ages, the location may have been confused with gardens that existed at Nimrud, since tablets from there clearly show gardens. The architectural plans of the Hanging Gardens were a pyramid consisting of four tiers of platforms. They were supported by columns of up to 25 meters.
Pyramid reminded ever-blooming green hill. In the cavity of one of the columns were placed tubes on them water from the Euphrates pumps continuously fed to the upper tier of gardens, where it's flowing in streams and small waterfalls, irrigated plants of the lower tiers.
The New Tower will become a Grate Wonder of the Athens!

CHOICE OF MATERIAL

The design intent was to make a new building as sufficient as possible by brining the advances technology and materials in to the structure.
The most important ideas of our proposal for Piraeus Tower are based on DuPont innovations.
Hanging gardens are resting on the white frames which are made of CORIAN.
DuPont Corian solid surface is one of the most versatile materials in the global market- place today. Consumers and professionals from all over the world are increasingly discovering that Corian is a material with endless potential.
The base walk-thru passage which we are converting in to a three story retail atrium will be the main recreational area for public. The volume of the atrium will be filled with hanging lianas and greens. We are proposing to use UV-breathable laminated glass roof with SentryGlas by DuPont structural interlayer that allows UV rays to pass through.
DuPont SentryGlas ionoplast interlayers help to create lighter, safer, more structural glass that can stand up to greater loads and higher threat levels.

DuPont SentryGlas Expressions decorative laminated glass with green lives motive we are applying on the walls of the interior corridors where it’s impossible to plant a real tree we are brining the nature with the DuPont.

The tower facades will be covered with the facade's laminated glass incorporated with DuPont SentryGlas structural interlayer.
We are going to apply DuPont Glass on the retail storefronts and displays, glass railings inside the shopping center.
All office floors will be covered with environmental friendly Commercial Carpet Made with DuPont Sorona Fiber
Sun deck, Pool deck areas will be paved with wood like material made out of DuPont Fusabond polymer.
