Νεκτάριος Κεφαλογιάννης

Αποφοίτησε από την Αρχιτεκτονική Σχολή του ΕΜΠ το 2002. Μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα ειδίκευσης (Msc) από το διατμηματικό πρόγραμμα του ΕΜΠ «Αρχιτεκτονική και σχεδιασμός του χώρου» (2004) [Γνωσιοθεωρία του αρχιτεκτονικού χώρου]. Master (MAA) in Advanced architecture από το Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalunya (IaaC/UPC) (2005) [Τerritorial design and strategies]. Αυτή την περίοδο ολοκληρώνει το Master in «Theory and Practice of Architectural Projects» (2007) του ETSABarcelona/UPC στην κατεύθυνση «Architecture in the mass society» [Αρχιτεκτονική στην μαζική κοινωνία]. Υποτροφία του ΙΚΥ (2004-) για μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές εξωτερικού. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε διεθνείς εκθέσεις, workshops, συνέδρια και αρχιτεκτονικούς διαγωνισμούς (με διάκριση).

Χρίστος Παπαστεργίου

Αποφοίτησε από την Αρχιτεκτονική Σχολή του ΕΜΠ το 2002. Μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα ειδίκευσης (Msc) από το διατμηματικό πρόγραμμα του ΕΜΠ «Αρχιτεκτονική και σχεδιασμός του χώρου» (2004) [Γνωσιοθεωρία του αρχιτεκτονικού χώρου]. Υποψήφιος διδάκτορας (PhD by architectural Design) στην Bartlett-UCLondon (2006-). Υποτροφία του ΙΚΥ (2006-) για διδακτορικές σπουδές. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε διεθνείς εκθέσεις, workshops και συνέδρια και έχει διακριθεί σε τοπικούς και διεθνείς αρχιτεκτονικούς διαγωνισμούς.

 Έχουν πάρει μέρος σε διάφορα προγράμματα ανταλλαγής και εργαστήρια (workshops) στην Ευρώπη, όπως στο πρόγραμμα «Socrates-Erasmus» (Ισπανία, 2000), το «Terraventure workshop» (Ρότερνταμ/Αθήνα, 2003) και η διεθνής συνάντηση Αρχιτεκτονικής του Μιλάνου (Ιταλία, 2003), διοργάνωση του Arci Milano. Συμμετείχαν στην 11η Biennale Νέων Δημιουργών της Ευρώπης και της Μεσογείου («Cosmos») το 2003, στον τομέα της αρχιτεκτονικής, μετά από επιλογή. Μετά από πρόσκληση του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου, παρουσίασαν και έκθεσαν την αρχιτεκτονική τους πρόταση «Διαπολιτιστικό κέντρο συνεργασίες και επικοινωνίας των λαών της ΕΕ», στο Γραφείο του ΕΚ στην Αθήνα. Επίσης, μετά από πρόσκληση της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής (Γενική Διεύθυνση Πληροφόρησης) και της αντιπροσωπείας της στην Ελλάδα (Διεύθυνση Τεκμηρίωσης και Πληροφόρησης) παρουσίασαν τις προτάσεις τους για κέντρα πληροφόρησης και επικοινωνίας στις Βρυξέλες. Έχουν εκθέσει το αρχιτεκτονικό τους έργο σε διάφορες χώρες και με διαφορετικές αφορμές (Ισπανία, Ολλανδία, Αγγλία, Βέλγιο, Ιταλία, Κροατία, Ελλάδα, Κύπρος).

Τους ενδιαφέρουν ιδιαίτερα ο αρχιτεκτονικός σχεδιασμός και η έρευνα πάνω σε ζητήματα που αφορούν τον αρχιτεκτονικό σχεδιασμό («research by design») και την δημόσια ζωή στη σύγχρονη πόλη: το δημόσιο χώρο που ευνοεί την δράση και τη δημιουργικότητα των πολιτών, την πολυπολιτισμική συνεργασία και επικοινωνία. Μέρος της έρευνάς τους πραγματοποιείται παράλληλα στο αντικείμενο του (χωρικού) στρατηγικού σχεδιασμού καθώς και στην ανάδειξη του στρατηγικού ρόλου και των στρατηγικών μέσων του σύγχρονου αρχιτέκτονα. Το 2007 ίδρυσαν την ερευνητική πλατφόρμα INF.R.A. – Research and Strategies (Informal Research in Architecture), συγκεντρώνοντας πάνω σε αυτήν τις διαφορετικές ερευνητικές τους ενασχολήσεις.

Λίγα λόγια για τη στήλη:

Η στήλη ‘Διερευνήσεις’, η οποία από το 2003 φιλοξενείται στους GRA, εστιάζει σε θέματα έρευνας της αρχιτεκτονικής και του χώρου. Χωρίς να φιλοδοξεί να αναπτύξει ολοκληρωμένη έρευνα ή να απαντήσει σε ερωτήματα, προσπαθεί να θέσει ερωτήματα, να διαγράψει τα πλαίσια του σύγχρονου προβληματισμού για τον χώρο και να καλέσει στην διαμόρφωση ενός πεδίου διαλόγου.

Στην στήλη διερευνώνται και αναπτύσσονται: Θέματα που αφορούν τη σύγχρονη αρχιτεκτονική και το αστικό περιβάλλον, τον ρόλο του αρχιτέκτονα σήμερα, τις προεκτάσεις που λαμβάνει ο ρόλος αυτός, καθώς και ζητήματα σχεδιασμού και σύγχρονων προοπτικών του (στρατηγικός σχεδιασμός, η συμμετοχή της έρευνας, η σημασία της καινοτομίας).

Christos Papastergiou

He is currently MPhil/PhD student at the programme ‘MPhil/PhD by Architectural Design’ of the Bartlett-UCL. Scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) for postgraduate studies abroad (2006- ). He has participated in international exhibitions, workshops, conferences and architectural competitions with distinctions.

The authors have participated in european programmes of interchange and workshops, such as the ‘Socrates-Erasmus’ programme (Spain, 2000), the ‘Terraventure Workshop’ (Rotterdam/Athens, 2003) and the international Architectural Meeting in Milano (Arci Milano, Italy, 2003). They have participated in the 11th Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (BJCEM): ‘Cosmos’ (2003). Presentation and exhibition of the project ‘Centre for the Inter-cultural Cooperation and Comunication in Europe’ at the offices of the European Parliament in Athens. Exhibition of projects for centres of communication and information in Brussels, representing Greece at the annual meeting for the urban Info-Points of the European Commission. They have participated in exchibitions and architectural events in various european countries (Spain, Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus).

They are interested particularly in architectural design and the research about design (‘research by design’) and the public life in contemporary urban environments: the public space that fosters the action and creativity of the citizens, the multi-cultural cooperation and communication. Part of their research is also about strategic planning and the strategic role and means of the architect. In 2007 they co-founded the research platform ‘INF.R.A.’ (INFormal Research in Architecture) for the research of contemporary spatial phenomena and strategies.

A word about ‘Investigations :

Investigations’ that from 2003 is hosted at the architectural portal GRA focuses on matters of research in architecture and space. Through ‘investigations’ we don’t aim at a complete research or answering in questions, instead we try to generate questions, to construct a frame for a contemporary problematization about architectural, urban and spatial matters and to call for the creation of a field of debate.

 In ‘investigations’ we are interested: about matters of contemporary architecture and urban environment, the role of the architect, the extensions of this role into contemporary social environment, matters of design and its contemporary aspects (strategic planning, participation of research, the inportance of innovation)
