Greek version

Archaeology is a scientific sector, directly connected with other sectors of the 21st century, while the research of the past societies and their environment affects the current culture and civilization. "Melissa" publications, realizing the importance of archeology, and due to the celebration of their 60 years in the field of publications on art, architecture, archeology, history and Greek culture, is organizing a series of events that emphasizes the great work of archeology, as well as its connection with other artistic and scientific sectors. The series of events includes lectures by important personalities and open conversations.

The series of events, called "Archaeology in dialogue with other sciences and arts", is coordinated by the archaeologists Christos Doumas and Christos Boulotis, and by the architect Dimitris Philippides. The opening of the program was on the February 17th 2012, where archeology was associated with the sectors of literature and cinema (speakers: Aggelos Delivorrias, Apostolos Doxiadis, Takis Theodoropoulos and Memi Spiratou). On March 22th, there was a dialogue between archeology and architecture (speakers: Manolis Korres, Vasilis Lamprinoudakis, Charalampos Bouras, Kleri Palyvou, Dimitrios Pantermalis and Panagiotis Tournikiotis) and finally, there was an association between archaeology and education (speakers: Pierre Ducrey, Charalambos Bouras, Michael Tiberius and Cornelia Hadziaslani).

On Thursday, May 17 2012 at 19:00, this series of events is closing with the event called "Archaeology and new considerations". Speakers of this event will be Costas Kotsakis, Lina Mendoni and Iris Tzachili and it will take place at "Melissa" Publications in the center of Athens.
