Painting exhibition by Liza Pentheroudaki titled "Daily Figures". (until 28 April 2012)
Inauguration at the art space Melanithros the solo painting exhibition of Liza Pentheroudaki Friday the 30 of March 2012 at 19.00 titled "Daily Figures".
Moments of everyday life with human figures painted in a cartoon style with bright colors and distinct forms give feelings of joy, wonder, carefree and sadness.
My first contact with painting came when my clients of whom I decorated the house wanted of their old furniture. Some had a style that I believed I had to find a way to maintain. So I made my first venture painting a nightstand. The result was successful. So I continued painting chairs, tables, consoles until I got the desire to experiment in the frame, the plexiglas and other materials.
I made wooden human figures painted in cartoon style. I carried some also in the canvas, funny, carefree or making a ride with their bike. You will judge the rest !...
Liza Pentheroudaki was born in Athens. She graduated from the " High school Athena" by G. Ziridi. She worked 15 years in the family business ( jewelry Pentheroudakis) . Her desire to be involved in art led her to London to study interior design at KLC College. She then worked as Head of the Wigmore Fine Arts Gallery.
Returning to Athens worked professionally in interior decoration. She is active in many areas around the art. In Workshop Fine Arts majored in wood processing. Samples of her work exhibited at the Cultural Center of Athens in March 2009. An important for her event was the inspiration to organize a nationwide exhibition of artists with disabilities. Held in cooperation with the agency VERY SPECIAL ARTS HELLAS, which is now a member of the Board (Art Gallery Melina Mercouri, September 1998). Combining art with her love for children, first in Hatzikyriakio Foundation and then at Children's Hospital "Aghia Sophia" keep the kids busy with creative painting along with story and music.
