High-Spec Accomodation Units alongside an existing Hotel Development

Motivated by the thesis, specific proposals were made for existing coastal land, located between Thermaikos and Toroneos Gulf, on the Kassandra peninsula of Nea Potidea in Halkidiki. Its length is 272 m., its width 142 m. and its total surface is 33 acres. It is adjacent to a 5-star hotel, whose extension is being studied in the current project.

The development of the 25 lodges of Bungalows & Villas Roa Spa is bounded in this elongated and sloping land and it is the extension of Pomengranate Spa Hotel. The complex consists of 21 bungalows and 4 villas, having a capacity of 66 beds. The basic object of this project was the investigation of the relationship between the two neighboring properties, in order that the new buildings will not block the light and the view of the existing hotel, as well as the possible connection between the outdoor areas of the two complexes. The lodges are designed in a way that penetration of light and air is allowed, offering the most appropriate hygienic conditions and pleasant accommodation, combining an unobstructed view to the preservation of privacy. The basic parameters of the composition are the pure geometry of the construction, the management of light and economy and functionality of plans. The idyllic location overlooking the green and blue required to maximize the transparency of the buildings' views. The complex contributes to a further upgrade of the services level offered by Pomengranate Spa Hotel, by modern infrastructure, providing advanced technologies, private outdoor areas and pool and individual spa in each lodge.

Apart from the lodges, there are also common areas of similar technology and aesthetics. The bar-restaurant is located at the northeast side of the land and in direct contact with the road. It consists of a bar-restaurant, a standalone bar and a café with changing rooms and wet areas, which also serve the sports facilities that are nearby.

At the southern end of the land, at the limit of the hotel complex and the coastline are developed the three volumes of the Lounge pool-bar and spa, with a strong presence of the liquid element. These facilities are not only limited in catering and entertainment but are also enriched with spa treatment rooms.

Finally, apart from the technologies that have been used, there is also a plan for modern ecological practices that influence and optimize the composition.
