This issue is a research product into the phenomenon of soundscapes for the course of "Architectural Theory, Philosophy and Science of Behavior" and is connected with the broad subject of ''Phenomenology''.

Our need to understand the environment around us (both urban and natural), to listen to the sounds that are born every moment and to have a holistic perception of space, not only based on vision, was the reason we choice and present the matter of soundspcapes.
The study develops into two sections. Initially, we attempt to present and clarify the concepts and procedures that describe the soundscapes, and its particular characteristics in order to obtain and understand the theoretical background of this phenomenon.
Secondly the experimental section follows, in which we display our personal experience of the city soundscapes. In particular, it's present the image of ''Nea Paralia'' in the east of Thessaloniki in the light of the sound scene.
The research process included a search of the university library, internet and fieldwork in the study area. The book is accompanied by explanatory videos, images, maps, references and sources.
